purrrp

i wanted to share with you a commission i finished today of these two little beauties! i've been given the all clear to share them online as the recipient is blissfully unaware of their impending surprise!

my cat lady status was confirmed the other day, i was in that wonderful shop home bargains buying multiple bags of cat treats, whilst wearing a top with a huge cat printed on it ... and then, my phone started going off; and whilst your phone ringing wouldn't be a problem for any normal person, i must point out here that my ringtone is a recording of luke doing a very realistic 'meowwww.' on repeat. and of course, my phone was set on LOUD. wonderful.

i'll be listing some new items in my shop this week, first up is your chance to commission me to draw a furry creature; do check it out!

  8. These are gorgeous. I've been doing pet portraits for friends and family and have been thinking about setting up an Etsy shop, but I'm a bit tentative as to how best to list commissions/made-to-order works. I find your illustrations so inspiring - I'm now thinking about how I can incorporate illustration into my design degree. Did you study illustration in order to become full-time freelance?

    1. thank you hannah! i'd definitely recommend setting up an etsy shop. i studied ba (hons) illustration, but i don't think it's essential for becoming freelance :)

  10. Haha, amazing story about home bargains.. that must have been very embarrasing. I'm a bit of a cat lady myself and try really hard not to show it off in public.. but sometimes these things just come out lol.

Love the drawing, you are so so talented xx

  11. Oh I have often looked like a crazy cat lady! Before I got Lana a woman working for Dreamies treats was giving loads away, she asked me how many cats I had and I said 'a lot' and she gave me about 6 packs, which I then ran away shouting 'I DON'T EVEN HAVE A CAT'
    haha!!! These are so cute!

  12. Aw they so cute! I'd ask you to do b-man but his two faces are 'really angry' or 'distraught' he can't do any others and both of them are ugly. He's a meter long! I measured him with my body last night.
