dr. fox

i realise i've been a little MIA recently, sorry about that.
i've had an odd week-and-a-bit filled with some nice things like birthdays, sunshine, and nice commissions, but also some not so nice things like having to see Doctors and hospital procedures. yuck. but i am making a mountain out of a molehill as i am a huge hypochondriac, all that matters is i'm back now, huzzah!

luke and i have put in place a new work routine, which so far is paying off quite nicely, it's certainly helping us to be more productive but also allows for some guilt-free time off. which is really very important. it's definitely bought the stress levels down.
but i'll blog about that another time. soon.

here's another sneaky peek at one of the projects i'm working on, i don't want to reveal it all just yet, so you will just have to wait and see.

today i came up with a genius idea that i'd like to share with you : stick a piece of paper down using washi tape over the part of the drawing you've already drawn to save smudging the s**t out of it. honestly. it's lifesaving.

ooh, also i noticed my tatts had a nice little feature on urban outfitters blog last week ♡ yess!

nook & cranny

totally love the name of this shop ... nook and cranny sells a wonderful collection of handmade and locally sourced products, ranging from art, cards, crafts and home-ware, located in the bluecoat art gallery, liverpool. check out their blog for regular updates and features, and you can follow them on facebook too
... i'm thrilled to announce they're now stocking some of my prints and tattoos!

galaxy love notes

here's a very quick commission i completed recently for samsung's new galaxy love note campaign. the brief was to create an illustration showing my idea of 'love' in a global/universal emotional sense. it was a very short deadline so i decided to keep it simple
... kitty love ♡
i *knew* all the hundreds of photos i take of my cats would come in handy one day!

you may notice some other super smashing illustrators in the line up too ... luke waller and holly exley to name a few

if you'd like to send a love note, just follow this link, pick your favourite design and enter your message, your card will then be printed onto a real life postcard and sent to your sweetheart
... and best of all, t'is freeeee

twofold

my futures illustration features in the latest issue of twofold magazine (#3), which is nice.
today luke and i decided to get up early and walk into town, as an excuse to leave our desks for a little while! i bought some daffodils from the market as a treat. the flower lady wrapped them in some particularly nice paper, so nice that i'm tempted to iron out the creases and hang it on my wall.

you may have spotted some footprints on my table from a naughty little so and so, who decided to walk across the wet mono printing board, which resulted in a trail of footprints across the desk, my diary and onto the *cream* sofa to where she sleeps

do's and don'ts

there's a nice little feature of my website in the latest issue (#30) of digital artist, the article's all about the do's and don'ts of building a portfolio website. nice to see that my site has been used to show the do's ... phew!
lots of great tips in there if you're looking into making your own site to showcase your work.
the mag also includes some really nice features and tutorials, including one by the rather wonderful sandra dieckmann on how she uses photoshop to make her magical fairytale-like trees. and a gorgeous how-to on making collages full of texture by erica read
